April–May (Opening)
Pleasant 10–22°C in the day, near freezing at higher dhams at night. Snow patches near Kedarnath and Yamunotri. Crowds peak in mid-May.
June (Pre-monsoon)
Warmest of the season, 15–25°C. Long days, clear visibility, popular with families. Book hotels 6–8 weeks ahead.
July–August (Monsoon)
Heavy rain, real landslide risk on Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag roads. We pause road departures and recommend helicopter Chardham.
September–October (Post-monsoon)
The sweet spot. Crisp clear views, 12–20°C days, fewer crowds. Our top-recommended window.
November (Closing)
First snowfall arrives. Temples close on Bhai Dooj and Diwali. Last departures usually 1st week of November.
